We protect the data that powers your sales and marketing

This privacy policy describes how NorScout AS ('we', 'us', or 'our') handles personal data when you visit our website, use our services, or contact us. We prioritize data protection and operate according to 'privacy by design' principles.

We collect information you provide directly (such as name, contact details, company info) and data automatically collected through your use of our services (such as usage logs, device info). We use this to provide and improve our services.

We use your data to deliver our services, manage your account, communicate with you, improve our platform, and comply with legal obligations. We do not send unsolicited marketing without your consent.

We implement robust security measures including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or misuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers who assist our operations (under data processing agreements) or when required by law.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. You can also object to processing and request data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.

We use necessary cookies for the website to function. We may use analytical cookies to improve user experience, but we avoid intrusive tracking.

When you use the NorScout app in ChatGPT, OpenAI sends us the requests ChatGPT makes for you, such as the industry, place and revenue to search for. We do not receive your prompts or your conversation. OpenAI also sends an anonymous ChatGPT user ID. We do not store it as received: we store a keyed hash of it, which we use to count searches made without an account. If you connect a NorScout account, we receive your NorScout user and workspace from the sign-in and save the lists you ask to save in that workspace.

We use this to answer your requests, to limit searches made without an account, to keep the service secure and to measure how the app is used. Usage statistics record counts and which kinds of filters were used. They do not contain search terms, company names or the ChatGPT ID, and searches made without an account all share one statistics ID.

These service providers process the data for us: Vercel (hosting), Upstash (temporary storage), our database host, Clerk (sign-in), PostHog in the EU (usage statistics and error reports) and Slack (error alerts). When you open the full-screen map, your browser loads map tiles directly from Mapbox. Results shown in ChatGPT are also processed by OpenAI under its own privacy policy.

Search results and the records that let you save them are deleted after 24 hours. The hashed ChatGPT ID and its search count are deleted 12 months after they were last used. If you connect an account, your workspace keeps a record that those searches have been counted, for as long as the workspace exists. Saved lists stay in your NorScout account until you delete them. Usage statistics linked to your NorScout user are kept until you ask us to delete them.

You can use the app without an account. You can disconnect NorScout in ChatGPT's settings at any time, and you can delete saved lists in NorScout. To see or delete data linked to your NorScout account, email hi@norscout.com.
